If you’ve followed my writing for very long, you know how deeply I believe in the God-given role of grandparents.
I believe our prayers matter.
Our encouragement matters.
Our example matters.
Our conversations matter.
And by God’s grace, our faithful influence can extend far beyond what we may ever see this side of heaven.
Yet as I continued writing and teaching, I found myself returning to one simple question.
Where does that influence begin?
The answer wasn’t found in a better strategy.
Or a new activity.
Or even another conversation starter.
It begins with our own relationship with Christ.
That realization shaped every page of Faithful Through the Years.
This devotional is different from many grandparenting resources because it isn’t primarily about what grandparents should do.
It’s about who we are becoming.
As we walk more closely with Christ, we become grandparents who pray more faithfully, love more patiently, speak more graciously, forgive more readily, and trust God more completely.
Those quiet changes may not seem remarkable.
But over time, they become a powerful testimony to our families.
As I wrote these devotions, I often pictured grandparents sitting quietly with an open Bible before the day began.
Not searching for another technique.
Not trying to fix every family challenge.
Simply meeting with the Lord.
Because everything else grows from there.
If these devotions encourage even one grandparent to know Christ more deeply and faithfully walk with Him, then I will consider this book a gift of God’s grace.
