When people hear the word legacy, they often think about accomplishments.
Important milestones.
Special memories.
Family traditions.
Even financial inheritance.
While each of those things has value, Scripture invites us to think differently.
The most enduring legacy is not built in extraordinary moments.
It is formed through ordinary faithfulness.
One prayer at a time.
One act of obedience at a time.
One encouraging conversation.
One quiet morning spent with the Lord.
One life consistently pointed toward Christ.
As grandparents, we sometimes wonder if our influence still matters.
The culture has changed.
Families are busier than ever.
Some of us live hundreds of miles from the grandchildren we love.
Others carry the heartache of strained family relationships.
It would be easy to believe that our opportunity has passed.
But God has never measured faithfulness by proximity, popularity, or productivity.
He asks us to walk faithfully with Him.
That has always been enough.
And that is the message woven throughout Faithful Through the Years.
Again and again, these devotions remind us that our greatest gift to future generations is not perfection.
It is a life that quietly reflects the character of Christ.
Long after our words are forgotten, our grandchildren may remember that we loved God’s Word.
That we prayed.
That we trusted the Lord during difficult seasons.
That we finished well.
My hope is that Faithful Through the Years will encourage grandparents to keep walking with Christ, one faithful step at a time, trusting Him to accomplish through their ordinary obedience what only He can do across generations.
Because the greatest gift you can leave your family is not a perfect life.
It is a faithful one.
