There’s nothing better than receiving a heartfelt note in the mail — especially if it’s from a long distance friend or family member. Whether you’re reminiscing on a favorite memory or providing an update on your holiday, a postcard is a special way to tell someone, “I miss you!” or “Wish you were here!”.
Postcards are a great way to let someone know that you’re thinking of them and connect on a deeper personal level, when seemingly everything else has gone virtual. Creating postcards also makes for a fun activity to do with your grandkids or alone on a cozy evening in.
To send love from afar, Florida Panhandle created five adorable printable postcards you can DIY from the comfort of your own home. Simply print out your favorite, add a special note, and send off! Below are the materials you’ll need:
- Printer
- Cardstock paper (recommended) or printer paper
- Glue
- (Optional): Cardboard to add sturdiness
There are five different themes depending on who you’re sending a card to and what the occasion is. Where you’re looking for a get well soon card, happy birthday, or a “just because!” theme, find your favorite and download the printable postcard below.
“You’d Make This Place Even Brighter” Postcards
“Your Love is a Shore Thing” Postcards
“Get Whale Soon!” Postcards
“Let’s Shell-ebrate!” Postcards
“You’re a Hoot!” Postcards
With the state of the world, everyone could use a little extra love. It’s the perfect time to send a loving postcard to a family member and practice your calligraphy skills. Take a little extra time and effort to write a note and drop it off at the post office or postbox. Anyone would appreciate the thought!
When Megan shared these adorable cards with me, I just knew I had to share them with you! They are perfect for connecting with grandchildren across the miles or during a pandemic! Just print them out, add your personal touch, and drop them in the mail.

I love this! I do not yet have grandkids, as my boys are 17 and 20 but these are great even for mamas as I try to encourage my boys in these launching years.

Thank you so much for sharing these postcards with us! I was just thinking about doing something like this to send to my grandson who loves 2000 miles away. He loves to get mail!
