Janet Ratty –
Hi Deborah, this is Janet Ratty from Community of Hope in South Florida. I have communicated with you in the past and I am excited to share with you that we are entering our 2nd year of growing up our GIG (Grandparents Intentionally Gathering) ministry. I previously purchased your Give a Blessing book & would like your advice on how many weeks you think this should be given? I don’t want to overwhelm or underwhelm my audience and prefer
1 1/2 – 2 hour sessions. I also wonder if certain days/times of days have worked best for you. We did a 6 part video series from Legacy Coalition, once per month, skipping the holidays, Sunday evenings, 6:30-8 p.m. and had much success the first couple months but then the numbers tapered off to 12-15 towards the end. Trying to make things work for everyone has been my biggest challenge – but when we do gather the responses have been wonderful.
Thank you for all you do to encourage the Grandparenting legacy – you are inspiring & I am grateful.
Blessings, Janet
Deborah Haddix (verified owner) –
Yes, Janet. I do recall our previous conversations. It’s so good to hear from you. If you are planning on 1 1/2 – 2 hour sessions, I would think that one module per session would be good pacing. This course has 4 modules. Therefore, 4 weeks should be good unless you want to add a week for introduction or closing celebration. The videos in this series are each less than 5 minutes in length if that is helpful for your planning purposes.
Please feel free to email me at deborah@deborahhaddix.com if I can be of any further help.
Blessings to you as you lead this precious ministry at your church.
