Praying for Grandkids

With the New Year upon us, this is an excellent time to make or renew our commitment to be intentional and specific about praying for our grandchildren.

While praying for our grandchildren absolutely benefits the child, it also provides benefits to our relationship with our grandchild, and to us (the pray-er) personally.  Consider the following:

Praying for my grandchild(ren):

is my call and my responsibility

is a long-term commitment

helps me to be involved in the lives of my grandchildren

allows God to accomplish His purpose in and through them

has an eternal impact on my grandchildren’s lives

is one of the greatest investments I will ever make into their lives

can stop Satan’s schemes and powers toward my grandchildren

invites me to bring all my concerns about my grandchildren to Him

permits me to release to God what I cannot control myself

closes the distance gap

is an honor and a privilege

draws me closer to God and nourishes my spirit

strengthens my relationship with my grandchildren

displays the faithfulness, sovereignty, and goodness of God

helps me play a major part in stabilizing and influencing the lives of my grandchildren

is the single, greatest thing I can do to express my love for my grandchildren

helps equip my grandchildren to stand fast in the faith

WOW!  What a role for us to play.  I pray that you will embrace this God designed role for your life today and make this the year you become more intentional about and specific in your prayers for your grandchild(ren).
