My Top 10 Thanksgiving Resources

“Thanksgiving is the precursor to joy.

–Kathy Keller

On a scale of one to ten, where would you say your life falls on the JOY Scale?

Is your JOY almost nonexistent, hovering around a one?  Do you live a life that exudes joy, landing at a ten?  Or do you fall somewhere in between?

No matter where you place yourself on that scale, would you like to increase your joy?

If so, try offering thanks.  This November make the choice to involve yourself in an activity or two that will help you grow in gratitude and engage in the giving of thanks.

Following are my top ten (in no particular order) “Gratitude Growing,” “Giving of Thanks” resources.

  1. Praying Scriptures of Thanksgiving  – A FREE printable for praying Scriptures of Thanksgiving.  Created by His Mercy is New.
  2. Gratitude Journal Prompts – 30 days of “gratitude focused” journaling prompts from textmyjournal.com.
  3. “Today I am Thankful for…” FREE Printable –  Love this idea.  Frame the printable and use a dry erase marker to see what your family members are thankful throughout the season.  Possibly the beginning of a new family tradition?  Printable by Somewhat Simple.
  4. Give Thanks Scripture Cards –  Cute “Thanksgiving/Gratitude focused” Scripture cards to print out and carry with you.  Find the FREE printable at Second Chance to Dream.
  5. Thanksgiving 30 Day Scripture Writing Plan – Use this writing plan to help you focus a few minutes each day on Scriptures of Thanksgiving.  Created by Shannon at Sweet Blessings.
  6. Growing in Gratitude:  A 30-Day Challenge –   This “Choosing Gratitude” challenge is one of the many challenges offered at Revive Our Hearts.
  7. Gratitude Scripture Challenge – 30 days of Scripture focused on the giving of thanks.  This list can be used in multiple ways.  Use it as a guide for reading and/or writing out the Scriptures.  And on the days when you are able, go even deeper into the Scriptures listed in this challenge by engaging in one or more of these methods:  Verse Mapping, Praying the Scripture in Color, journaling, meditating, or memorizing.  The Gratitude Scripture Challenge is the newest Scripture Challenge at deborahhaddix.com.
  8. Thanksgiving Placemat –  Simple “I am thankful for…” Thanksgiving dinner placement.  (This link is to a Pinterest pin.  I was unable to locate a link to the original source.)
  9. FREE Christian Printables for Fall – Decorate your home with God’s Word.  Printables from The Unabashed Life.
  10. 5-Day Gratitude Journaling Challenge –  A FREE guided journaling activity to help you grow in gratitude.  Provided by The National Association of Christian Journal Writers.

Deborah, this post must have taken you so much work. There is so much for the reader to use. Really great stuff. My favourite is the placemat. I’m big on journalling so I like that it would compel people to record their hearts to thankfulness! I’m here today from the #HeartEncouragement Linkup yesterday. Sorry I didn’t comment yesterday. My day kind of went haywire as soon as I added my post to the linkup. Hope you didn’t feel slighted 🙂 Have a blessed weekend!

    • Oh, Sherry, I totally understand about those haywire kind of days!!! Thank you for taking the time to visit today. I’m big on journaling, too. The placemat is a favorite of mine!!! I pray it will be a sweet blessing to you and your Thanksgiving Dinner guests.

Deborah! What a GREAT resource! I’m literally going back and forth between Grace and Truth “visiting” and writing a Thanksgiving post myself, so your link at G&T jumped right out at me. Pinning this on the spot! Thanksgiving blessings to you!

    • Elizabeth, Thank you for stopping by today. I am so glad you found the resources helpful! Thank you, too, for pinning and sharing! Thanksgiving blessings to you and your family.
